The fear was a lie.

For years, I was convinced that walking away from a big corporate title meant I was losing something. Seniority. Status. Security. Identity.
But here's what I've learned: at a certain point in life, the treadmill isn't taking you anywhere. It's just keeping you tired.
And the bravest thing you can do is step off.
What nobody tells you is that you can't just leap from one chapter to the next. There's a season in between — and it's not wasted time. It's the most important work you'll do.
Decompress. Actually decompress. Not a long weekend. Real stillness.
Heal. From the pace, the pressure, the identity that corporate life handed you.
Reflect. Who are you when you're not someone's employee? What do YOU actually want?
Only then can you chart something new. Something that's actually yours.
I spent 20 years in big tech focused on becoming more at work. I thought I needed that to feel like I mattered.
Turns out, the space I was so afraid of? That's where I am finding myself. It's not easy but it's necessary and I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
If you're standing at that edge right now — scared of what's on the other side — I see you.
The fear is lying to you too. 🩵
